October 11, 2026: Human Trafficking
Our first Social Justice program addresses a difficult but important issue: human trafficking.
Human trafficking isn’t just something that happens somewhere else. It affects communities
across Michigan, including right here in Oakland County. Understanding what trafficking looks
like, how it affects individuals and families, and what we can do to recognize and respond to it is
an important first step.
We’re especially fortunate to welcome two people who work on the front lines of this issue:
Cindy Brown, who leads the Oakland County Human Trafficking Unit in the Prosecutor’s Office,
and Detective Sergeant Mike Miles, Unit Commander.
Please join us on October 11, when we welcome Cindy and Mike and begin this new Social
Justice series. Together, we can learn more, become more aware, and look for ways to make a
difference in our community.
